Well, you're ready for next years salted roads
Which reminds me I have to gather up my rustproofing supplies and get that done this summer.

You merely compensated to make up for the OEM filter tightness.
So now for your 2 oil/filter changes - the filters have been just right .... on average.
I tell you what... whoever installed the OEM filter was a muscleman... or woman.

Well... I finally got a chance to do an oil change on the Maverick today.

My grandson Chris gave the old man a lending hand since two 600 mile workdays in a rough riding Mack truck had my legs and back chriropractor ready...

Anywho...

We get the truck on my lift... pull the skid plate. We notice an oil film almost everywhere. Check the drain plug... tight. Tighten a few fittings... all ok.

So I wipe some dripping oil off the oil filter and VOiLA! (that means holy sh@t for those of you in Rio Linda)...a loose oil filter!

Blame the former automotive expert engine guy, chassis builde, hot rodder and stock car racer... me!

I of course I have no one else to blame. I accept my fate... constant ridicule from everyone.

God I'm a dumbass!

I am really surprised it didn't fall off... it was THAT loose!

Hate doing it, but I’ll step up and admit when something is my fault. I have a tremendous respect for those who do the same, and even more respect for you for posting it on an internet forum.

As for the rough riding Mack, I feel your pain. Walking beam suspension concrete mixer trucks are not the place to be for 12-16 hours!

Been there!

Back in the 70's I was hauling swinging beef everyday from the UP of Michigan to Milwaukee.

We were short a tractor so dispatch rented a Freightliner from a local outfit. It was setup as a heavy hauler with an 18K front axle/52K rears on Hendrickson rubber block walking beam rear on a 152" wheelbase.

It rode so rough the pillow in my sleeper would bounce out of the bunk! My four year old truck crazy son refused to ride with me because it rode too rough!

I've had girlfriends that didnt ride that rough!
