Blackstone oil report!

So got my report back.
This is on my Livernois tuned 2.0 running a mix of e30, 87-93 tow and performance tunes. About 50 percent towing a trailer over 5k lbs.
Mix and of spirted driving city and highway. Couldn’t get a better mix of driving.
Ran amsoil 5w30 and changed at 50 percent oil life just to check. Also running KN airfilter.

Everything checks out to run full oil life monitor changes. Kinda what I expected as I’ve followed this same protocol for all my ecoboost engines and have several over 300 and one over 400k miles with zero issues.

Forget the engine. Not worried about the tranmsiion towing 5K. I would be.

The low viscosity bothers me. I did Blackstone report on mine too, and report low viscosity as well. Our Escape report had low viscosity as well. Gotta be that 5W-30 oil values.

Blackstone is a great outfit, but I had one complaint. I went to them with my FIRST OIL CHANGE at 1500 miles. The one number I was interested in THEY COULDN'T GIVE ME, as it was too early in my engine's life. I wanted the PERCENTAGE OF LIFE LEFT IN THE OIL, but, it was too early for that. My next oil change will have over 5,000 miles, so should give me a good idea. I change oil every year, regardless of mileage, and am curious as to how much "distance" I have left.

Well not really. I have hauled over 8k lbs back from south Texas already. Everything stays within proper range. But time will tell. I’ll find the weak pint if it has one. So far so good.
I’m not under any idea that I’m not working it so if it does that’s the chance I take. But it’s people like me that let other know how good or bad those will be.

It’s only slightly low. Keep in mind these engine at one point had 5w20. I normally would look at a thicker oil but like I stated all mine have made over 300k so it must not do any wear. Also if it was an issue the oil report would show accelerated wear form the thin oil.
I e toyed with thicker oil in the summer while hauling. But it’s hard to change since I’ve had such good luck. I’ll do another report next spring after some more heavy hauling and a good mix of all my styles of driving.
