Why even mess with the synthetic blend? You’ve wasted more money on the analysis than you would have just using a full synthetic from the start.
Yeah, I do find it odd to accept the cost of analysis and not buy the best oil you can afford. Then again, why buy Motorcraft when you can buy other excellent full synthetics off-the-shelf at a cheaper price? If you're somehow worried about this affecting your warranty, just buy one of the many full synthetics that have the Ford spec number on the bottle.

A sure thing, obviously. What I like to do is buy my choice of oil, take to local dealer Quick Lane, ask them to use my choice of oil instead. Last oil change, I brought copies of the two oil changes, showing results of viscosity and shearing effects. I query them if they using Motircraft oil, and proper 5W30 oil in their bulk tanks. Service writer looked up oil specs, which is MC stuff, saying yes it is. But I wonder….

Would you be so kind to share the future report. I am interested to learn what the QS lube oil performs. Thanks!
Here you go. The higher initial cSt viscosity of QSFS 5w-30 helped on this longer run. This is probably what I'll stick with throughout the warranty period with 5-6K OCIs.

Usually low kinematic viscosity in the 2.0 Ecoboost is due to fuel dilution rather than shear. What makes you think it's shear? Keep in mind that Blackstone doesn't measure fuel dilution directly--they extrapolate dilution from kinematic viscosity and flash point.
Crap…Was planning to use Blackstone to measure the fuel dilution in my full synthetic MC 5W-30…because of the fuel dilution TSB affecting my Maverick.

Seems like the Blackstone report will not offer conclusive evidence of fuel dilution even if it exists.

What doesTR in the fuel% section mean?
