Offered a cancelled order

My Local Ford salesman called an offered me a Maverick XLT hybrid Area 51 order that his customer cancelled.
I accepted with a deposit of $500. I did want OXford White .
He said you can color choice to Oxford White. Allowable by Ford. Certain options , Motor , XLT package could not be changed.
The Maverick is scheduled to be built week 4/25/2022.
My question is can a dealer change certain order options so soon before being built. He left the original name on the order.

I don’t know about changing colors and options but I would make sure you are going to be buying at MSRP with your deposit of $500. When I bought mine it was a canceled order and the color was not as important to me as the options and model. Is it what I would have ordered, no, but I am completely satisfied and happy with the outcome!

I do have the MSRP price and list of options. I did see that the build is a priority 02.
However I do not have a contract signed. He did say they do not do Dealer Adjustment.
I would be paying MSRP, but that remains to be seen.

At this point, you might as well play it out & see what happens. I assume your deposit is refundable, in case they try to pull something shady.

It has been presented that the color can be changed post scheduling, but it takes the Regional Ford Rep stepping in. Hope it works out for you.

I changed my color, after my initial order but still no build date. Don’t change the trim level or you will be pushed to MY2023
