Hoping someone with access to Fords parts catalog can clear up some confusion.

In the parts catalog when looking at shocks there are 4 variants listed:
  • Standard
  • Rough Road (FX4)
  • Performance
  • Super Sport
For springs only 3 variants are listed:
  • Level 1 (FWD)
  • Level 2 (AWD)
  • Super Sport
When pulling a Tremor VIN it seems to point toward the SuperSport parts. So if Tremor is the SuperSport shocks and springs, what are the Performance shocks for?
Any clarifications are appreciated.

Interesting. Here is what I find for shock applications by inserting VINs into fordparts.com.
  • standard - all including 4K AWD except with below packages
  • rough road - suspect its included when selecting opt machined face wheel and 235/65-17 AT tire w/o FX4 or Tremor - can't verify this as I can't find any built VINs since this config is not common
  • performance - FX4
  • super sport - Tremor

Coding straight from the Maverick's ABS module. Not sure if this helps or not..
