I do not have my Maverick yet, so I can not speak from experience. I know the Lariat trim has an acoustic laminate windshield, while the XL and XLT do not. Could this possibly play into road noise at highway speeds?

Lariat here, confirming even the acoustic windshield doesn't help and often get the same complaint of a wind tunnel noise. Watching this thread for any upgrades.

Same issue here.
I called my dealership, over the car phone, so they could hear the issue. They set me up with the service department, tech didn't state anything specific on the service doc, but they did order a replacement mic. Will report if it fixes the issue or not. Maybe Ford got a batch of bad mics.

Did 2,400 miles over three days and it was a problem in my Lariat.
Got so bad I disconnected Bluetooth and just used the phone speaker.
