"No Status Update" from Rail Tracking - Any advice?

Is anyone else unable to obtain tracking updates when calling CSX and UP? Apparently, mine shipped over two weeks ago, but when I call and input the rail car number it never produces any hits. My dealer hasn't been able to offer any other means or help with tracking the car. Does anyone have an "in" with Ford or these rail companies to help me get some info? I'm perhaps willing to compensate for your help if so... I sold my car privately already so I'm commuting via bicycle for now, but if this Mav is delayed or is going to be held up somewhere for a while, I need to plan accordingly 🙃

All rail deliveries from Hermosillo factory will start on the Union Pacific system when crossing the border at Nogales, Arizona. For east coast deliveries, it will hand off to CSX and/or Norfolk Southern too.

So every valid rail car number should be in the UP system at some point from Nogales until it reaches its final destination on the rail system or transfers out to another rail system.

I can tell you I had problems with the UP phone system finding my rail car number the first few tries. I will share a couple of tips I had to do to get them to find my rail car number in the system.

  1. Speak clearly and annunciate (obviously)
  2. Have no pauses in the letter number sequence you speak, do not pause between letters and numbers, speak pretty quickly at the same speed all the way through
  3. Do not use a speaker phone, and if on a cell phone make sure you have a solid connection
  4. If your rail car begins with TTGX, just say TGX. If I say "TTGX" it seems to cut off the last digit in the numeric portion. But just "TGX" it recognizes the Double T's
Try it again with Union Pacific system with these things in mind. Good luck!

The truck just showed up at the dealer today! So not all hope is lost if anyone else out there is also getting the "no status" railcar updates over the phone. All in all that was just a hair under 3 weeks from the Shipped email notification.

When I contacted CSX system today, I was told that my Maverick is in Arlington, TX since 11/27. When I contacted UP today, I was told that my Maverick is still at the US/Mexican border (in the US). I thinking the RR tracking has as many problems as Ford's tracker. :ROFLMAO:

Based on those dates, very plausible went from Nogales to Arlington TX in that amount of time. Maybe waiting to change rail lines at the Terminal in Arlington?

Yes, you do. Just ask for a screen shot of your vehicle visibility report. Some dealers will do this, some do not.

Mine wouldn't give me the report said it was for internal use only, but he gave me info off of it, so I'll ask again for the rail car number. Thanks

How were you able to get both the UP Rail Car number and the CSX Rail Car number?

I only have a UP Rail Car number.

I didn't think I'd see the day we were looking for rail car numbers to try and track the route our trucks are taking to get to us :unsure: . Five months for me and it almost seems unreal. 10 days ago I was looking at "in production" with no idea at what point the hybrid's would be released! Congrats to everybody that actually has a hybrid on its way !!!

How were you able to get both the UP Rail Car number and the CSX Rail Car number?

I only have a UP Rail Car number.
I only have the UP rail car number but it worked in the CSX system.
