No longer $1,500 for hybrid?

Yes, it's heavier than a 1/2-ton class truck. But 6,000lb+ 3/4-ton and 1-tons aren't some unsolvable longevity mystery for tire manufacturers. So it's not just 'EVs heavy'.

We registered our 2024 Maverick yesterday and paid fees. The clerk asked if it was a gas vehicle, I said yes, thinking she was asking Gas or Diesel...but then I added that it was a Hybrid. She said "It's not all-electric, is it? There is a $200 surcharge for electric vehicle registration." So add WY to the list of states that recoup road tax through registration of Electric-only vehicles.

Edit: I looked up our fuel tax rate. It is $.24 a gallon here...thus that $200 fee makes up for not consuming 833 gallons of gas and paying road tax. My Maverick will likely only consume 125 gallons in a year.

I see the Dealership listings with all kinds of errors on them.
Stating stupid stuff like "2.5L turbocharged engine".
Or "AWD hybrid".
But the window stickers are right.
If it doesn't include the $1,500 charge (for the 24) then they didn't even order you the hybrid.
You would have been pissed.
Wow what a change from a Maverick to a Lightning.
It doesn't seem the same person could be interested in both.

I saw a dealer listing say that the engine was a "2.4 liter turbo hybrid" If only...

I ordered a 24 Lariat hybrid with black appearance package. I ended up not taking the order, as I bought a lightning in December.

It is now for sale on my local dealer's lot, but I noticed that the MSRP is $1,500 less than what I had on my order. The window sticker does not show the $1,500 charge for the hybrid.

I wonder if they would have tried to charge me that if I went through with the order...

I ordered my 24 Lariat hybrid in Aug when the window opened, even then the Lariat hybrid showed a $750 deduction over the Ecoboost. I showed the dealer and he was surprised it showed that. The XL and XLT were still $1500 upcharge. The price at order was the price at delivery.

On the Lariat it is standard AWD Ecoboost which is a $2250 charge from FWD Ecoboost, so on the window sticker you will see a -$720 if it is hybrid.
