I can tell you its Part #NZ6Z 16072 A, "Driver's side fender apron insulator"
Yes sir, thanks for confirmation. I had found and posted on here yesterday the diagram and part listing and cost. But now that I have someone like you who has same truck, I know I can have ford handle this without asking me for $80.00 plus install.

Just got back from the dealer and had this missing part installed, drivers side was missing and they ordered it.
Interesting, so this sounds like it might be possible to have the dealer fix, under the idea that it was a mistake that the insulation was not installed. Sounds like it IS a mistake and that maybe all Mavs should have this.

Is this how others are reading this issue??

Wow I just saw this thread and it’s funny because I was looking at wiring my radar detector power last night and I had the same thought - why is this area all open?

I can actually see my washer fluid tank on the passenger side. 99% sure this is an error and they didn’t have the parts available at build time.

Yes, thanks for the confirmation. Given that the engine noise is already on the louder side on the Maverick, I'd like to get this fixed. I'm gonna contact the dealer.

Yes, yes, and yes guys!! I’m glad I did this thread…. I’m always nervous doing these, like people will think, as there were two post earlier, thinking I was bitching about buying a “$20k truck and adding $10k of options to it and being upset cause it isn’t perfect” type thing! But agreed!! I can see my washer fluid reservoir, engine bay, passenger side gives off strong whiff of engine oil etc from engine bay, and as you mentioned… it’s noisy enough!! This would be a decent aide to lowering the wind/engine noise! I love stuff like this though… I enjoy figuring out weird issues or items, fixing stuff, and collaborating!

just wanted thank everyone for sending pictures and updating what they know and what Maverick they have. My Maverick was born on 10/8/21 and delivered on 12/15/22. So it is possible there were some sacrifices made for parts available or a production line issue?

Fellow Maverick owners- I had noticed being able to smell oil/engine bay smell(s), when opening passenger door… come to find out the normal black foam/rubber or even insulated carpet material found on most all vehicles was missing!? This is the area behind both door hinges (driver/passenger) that is the fender to engine bay openings. I have attached a couple pictures. You can see where the insulation would attach with a retainer clip….? Is my Maverick the only missing these?, is your’s missing..? Is this another cost cutting? If cost cutting, I will have to add my own, one for noise and wind and etc, but also I don’t want to smell or hear or feel engine bay nuances…?? Never seen this before guys? This is both sides! As you can see the washer fluid reservoir passenger side, and driver side is the same….

Yes sir! This will be a fix covered under warranty. If it’s on all mavericks or some that have one missing etc… I’m seeing this as mine will get them fixed by ford.

Whoever here goes to the dealer first, please let us know what they say. If it’s not a warranty item I’ll likely buy and install them anyway. How are they mounted? I wonder if you have to take off any body panel to install them?

Yes sir! I promise I will let you know! EricL said above that they ordered and replaced via warranty… of course his had one missing and one not…. Either way I’m a big warranty person and I will provide a copy of work up, warranty or not, and everything. Might try to run over there yet today or maybe tomorrow. They told me I could swing by before my appointment to take a look…

So, See the tab with the circular hole at top of the fender opening. I think maybe a retainer clip fits there??? But I can’t tell from the other mav pics that have them or not? I hope it can be wedged in safely and badda bing or they just have to remove some bolts and slide in?

it was covered by warranty, when I was at the dealer they had a base hybrid so I went over to take a look inside the doors and it had the insulation on both sides so I knew it was missed at the factory.

If someone is just "missing" one of these, may want to shine a flash light in there and confirm that it hasn't fallen forward and dropped down behind the fender liner. Not to say it isn't possible to be missing one, but as easily as I removed one, I could see the insulator working itself out of position pretty easily as well.
JJC- you should take both out and drive around for say awhile or a week etc. and see if you notice anything at all… you have the lariat so the windshield you have may keep you from noticing..

The more I read these forums the more I think that the production line for the Maverick is very close to the movie Gung Ho where they're trying to push out as many vehicles as they can to meet the quota and decide to leave out parts and fasteners just to meet the quota.
