So this is for sure where those foam blocks go (sorry I haven't read the entire thread). Where did you get them and how much? Most importantly do they help with noise reduction at all?
It's in the entire thread. ;)
Lol here you go ...

As to whether that is the location the blocks go "for sure" that's the consensus in this message thread so far -- without tracking down the Ford engineer that decided to include the blocks in the service manual assembly diagram without showing where they go. The diagram is somewhere in this thread. I don't know how much they cost exactly as I used my Ford points. They cut tire noise significantly in my opinion. My wife claims they make it harder to close the doors, which is possible if you think about where the air pressure goes ...

Ok thanks for the info. I have the fender aprons on my 25 XLT Hybrid but I agree there is a lot of open space above these fender aprons so it makes sense the white foam blocks should (probably) go there:)

Forgot to ask but I assume these white foam blocks fit nice and snug into that space so they shouldn't fall out correct?

I doubt it. I'm not going to open the hood and ask my wife to slam the passenger door at the exact same time as I slam the driver door to see if they fly out and hit me in the face ... :ROFLMAO:

I wish I had seen this thread before I stuffed pool noodles in that area! The pool noodles, along with the Ford Lariat black insulators I purchased are working quite well, But I think the sound Insulator blocks would have been better!
I like the suggestion that the Aftermarket should make an effective replacement. Certainly seems to be a market for it.

Seeing this thread again reminded me that I noticed that I have these in my Maverick.

For years I thought I didn't have these bits, but when I last washed my truck a few weeks ago I noticed something. The driver side insulation piece had just fallen down or not been installed correctly at the factory, leading me to believe it wasn't there! Pushed it back into place, just glad it didn't fall out onto the road during the 3 years or so that it was laying down. :sneaky:

Yea . I cut up pool noodles to length and shoved them in between fender and door. Don't really know if it reduces noise but didn't cost anything . I might get engine cover at future date but it is not a priority . I don't notice much noise especially when radio on listening to jazz . As click and clack use to say " if noise bothers you turn up radio volume ".
Those guys were hilarious; I used to listen to them all the time. Always loved the ending credits to their lawyers, "Dewey, Cheatam and Howe" ;)

Buy a cheap product, complain about cost cutting measures. I’ll never understand this perspective.
But, when you get into the upper model trims and accessories, it not a cheap product anymore. Should be there.
