New tailgate?

I have a '24 Maverick and like a dumb-ass I left the tailgate down and backed into a pole.

The local dealership is quoting me $1500 for just the tailgate shell and I can move the old hardware over. Any idea where I might find one cheaper? I didn't see anything used on car-part.com

If not I'll just swallow my pride and buy it.

The fact that car-part lists it as "lid/gate" tells me it's still a tailgate. If I'm wrong, I guess I can start calling it a lid.

Depends on how you use the gate in a sentence. It can be referred to as a lidgate, tellgate, talegate, or tailgate, swingate, and many more.

If your patient, and you check the parts sites diligently, I would think you can find a lid/gate in your truck's color. There's a lot of Maverick's on the road. Patience is the key. Me? I probably would buy the first available and have it painted. Good luck in your search.

A month or so ago there was someone on DFW, TX marketplace parting out a Maverick, seems like it had front end damage.
