I traded in a 2024 Eco-Boost FX4 for a 2025 AWD Hybrid and have to say it's a better experience all the way around for me.
The Eco-boost transmission seems to hunt and have hard shifts when climbing or descending. I hated the transmission and getting the CVT in the Hybrid makes the ride...
Keep in mind I drove a Tesla before my Maverick for many years so I'm a bit spoiled in not feeling ANY transmission shifts. But what I feel are hard shifts and a refusal to take accelerator, until all of a sudden it does and i get a surge of power. Perhaps it's the turbo spooling up.
I HATE it. Nothing like sitting in 90F weather at a stop-light and noticing your A/C is blowing hot air.
Also nothing like finding a tiny gap in fast moving traffic to pull out and having to wait for your car to start up and then surge like it's out of control.
I am having the same issue with my 2024 Ecoboost 4k. The transmission in general feels extremely unrefined. I am moving to the CVT in the 2025 Hybrid and I'm hoping it's a better experience.
I came from a Tesla so I'm hypersensitive to all the jerky shifts.
They need to come out with a Platinum trim and add:
1) Power passenger seats
2) ventilated front seats
3) Blue cruise
I would also like to see a PHEV in the future. Just around town I would burn zero gas.
I have a '24 Maverick and like a dumb-ass I left the tailgate down and backed into a pole.
The local dealership is quoting me $1500 for just the tailgate shell and I can move the old hardware over. Any idea where I might find one cheaper? I didn't see anything used on car-part.com

It made it very fast to back out and get going forward before traffic catches up.
Having to come to a full stop when backing out onto a main road, coming to a complete stop and then fumbling at the dial while cars are barreling toward you isn't fun.
It can be mitigated by directing cool air into that area or making the layer between the charging coil and phone out of a thinner material so there isn't as much energy loss to heat.
Yes I am using Wireless AA which turns on both the WIFi and Blietooth antenna. The phone gets toasty hot. If ford adds wireless AA they are going to have to address better phone cooling during the summer. Perhaps redirect some of the air to the charging area.
I have a Galaxy S23 and when I use the wireless charger the phone gets very hot and doesn't seem to charge much.
I've had to use a plug-in charger. Am I the only one experiencing this?
It seems like the cubby needs ventilation
That's the reason I sold my Tesla M3P. Best car I have ever owned, but when you start to see battery degradation of 15% at year 3 it really makes you want to offload the coming problem onto someone else.
And I treated that battery pack like a baby. Only supercharged about 3 times total and...
