New Sub boxes released.

I just picked up a used pair with 2 8 inch subs for $300. Was going to cut out the opening and use 10s but I’m blown away by how the 2 8s hit. I had a single 10 in a custom box I made but these were too good to pass up. Really amazed at how hard 2 8s hit. I used some Amazon gift cards I had and ordered 2 Skar SDR-8 subs for $150 for the pair. I was running a Kicker 800 watt amp for the single 10 but I’ll be swapping to the CXA1200 I have.

As far as harnesses, Hoel is still around. I used his harness on my old truck for the 10 inch Hideaway and it was 100% P&P. This time around I got the Sounds Good Stereo harness for the B&O system. For $80 it allows you to connect your amp to the factory B&O sub connector. Install was easy as well. I’m not trying to win any Audio competitions I just wanted some extra bass for the stock system. For the money I’m 100% pleased.

I've heard a lot of good things about the 8" woofers in these setups. I think that's what I'll be going with as well, same as you, the SKAR. $300 for all that though? Man, that's a steal. It's almost $300 for a single box alone!

I think he meant that he got the boxes for $300 and then the subs on Amazon for $150. Still a great deal.

I have never seen anyone give any kind of feedback on the Ground Shaker prebuilt Maverick boxes so that's good to know he's happy with the sound and the fit looks good.

I shoulda been clearer but yes $300 was for the boxes and subs. I’m not familiar with D18 subs, even though they hit, but I purchased the Skars anyways.

I like this much better and eliminated any rattling that was there before. Also changed the amp to a Kicker CXA1200 and it sounds amazing. Unfortunately the amp doesn’t fit in between so I had to shuffle some stuff around behind the seat.

Not bad, however looking at the air space .45cuft before a sub goes in leaves VERY little airspace for a 10" woofer. I'm sure there are subs that will work in them but most subs need at least .5cuft per sub for a sealed enclosure.

Custom box for a JL 10TW3 would be perfect and sound amazing

Actually this air space is spot on and optimal for a JL 10TW3 and sounds amazing in this box. Thats plenty of room for several 10' subs and larger 8'' subs as well. (sound qubed HDS 2.2)
