I’m almost done with the mods on my Maverick XLT Hybrid. Tint today.
I live in Orange County, California, and I also had the windows in my Maverick tinted.

Details: LLumar® IRX™ 50 heat-rejecting ceramic window tint on the side and rear windows; AIR 80 (clear) heat-rejecting window tint on the windshield.

For those that asked, it cost $850.

I chose to go with the lightest trim because there are several city police people in the neighborhood.

Sorry to resurrect this old thread, but your specs and brand are exactly what I'm planning to do on my Mav soon. Any issues with this config? Tickets?

How's the heat rejection now that you've gone through a summer with it?

And any rainbow issue wearing polarized glasses with the front windshield tint?

No problem whatsoever. This is why we participate in MTC.

For what it is worth, I sold the Maverick about two weeks ago. The buyer lives in Modesto, California, and plans to put many miles on it in northern California and the Pacific Northwest.

The heat rejection was remarkable. The truck tended to sit in the driveway. I could get into it on the hottest days, and the AC was able to cool it down quickly.

The tint choices I made worked. Using the same tint level, the front windows were noticeably lighter than the rear windows. Although I had a shell on it, the rear window was also tinted.

I didn't receive any tickets. Two city police officers, including a traffic violations officer, live in my neighborhood. Although they were aware of the side tint and commented on it, they didn't notice the tinted windshield -- it is very subtle.

@Ryom Yes, rainbow issues are an issue associated with wearing polarized glasses and looking out the windshield. I kept a set of non-polarized glasses in the truck.

I'm hoping that keeping the contrast in "darkness" keeps the cops at bay. That's why I like the idea of 50% all around so the back looked much darker than front and that would create the illusion of legal levels. I'm glad to hear about the windshield being barely noticeable. Thanks for the reply!
