Just picked up my XL Hybrid today!

here’s a few items that some may find helpful:

1) my parking garage is 5’10”, and the Maverick JUST fits, if you unscrew the antenna. I researched before buying but sometimes seeing is believing. I’ll be looking for a stubby antenna.

2) I got the factory trifold tonneau cover. Two of the Milwaukee Packout crates stacked on top of each other JUST fit under the tonneau cover, if you make sure the feet of the crates sit in the dips of the floor of the bed. There was one spot I had to notch 1/2” out of the top of a crate, where the hinges of the tonneau cover lined up with the edge of a crate.

3) I went from a Ram Tradesman Cargo Van (the small ones that are like a caravan but with no windows). I was fully expecting to load this Maverick up including the back seat, to get equivalent storage. Unbelievably, almost everything fit in the truck bed! I had to play Tetris with the tools, but it fit! I’m a plumber who is only on the tools part time these days, and this will work great for me. Can’t carry pipe or even half lengths though, unless you want them to stick out the back, which I’ll be doing on occasion I’m sure. I’m not sure this is a great truck for a service/construction vehicle, but for estimators, supervisors, light service work, it’s great.

Hope this helps anyone considering a Maverick.

Yep, it’s a pain for sure. Until the Maverick came along, there were literally no new work vehicles that would fit - meaning no cargo van or pickup truck. This includes Ford Transit Connect, Ram ProMaster City, Nissan NV (discontinued anyway), Tacoma, Ranger, Colorado, and Metris. I am so grateful for this little Maverick! This building was constructed back in the days when vehicles were much smaller than they are now.
But yes, I agree, it is stupidly short lol

😂 we go by the Canadian version of the metric system, so it would be 23.2 Maple Syrup bottles tall. Or 2.1 hockey sticks, if you prefer.

I think my low-level claustrophobia would prevent me from even crawling in there, let alone driving in! Yikes! o_O

Possibly the funniest of any MTC post responses. Ever.

BTW: original poster, thanks for the observations. 😁

There was never an era where trucks were all under 5'10". Whoever designed that building is asshat brother of the guy who built the Ghostbusters building. I don't even know how the built the thing. With low slung mining equipment? Lol

Mine is becoming a railing lnstallation vehicle, we do Aluminum railings, hand made, ornamental and structural, down to just me and a helper, but we do a good business during the work year in PA.

Challenge is going to making a rack that extends behind the bed and over the cab, to haul what I need, I can do up to 20 foot runs to still fit in the oven for powder coating.

I made a structural bed insert from 8" Aluminum channels and diamond plate for the base, pipes make up the uprights and framing, which are attached to the base, nothing rests on the bed sides, and my Ranger 8 welder is framed into the system to act as ballast.

Considering cutting 3.5 feet of the current rack system, and leaving the top of it intact, which would stick out 3.5 over the rear of the bed, a headknocker, but, I plan to only use the racks and bed insert on a daily basis, and unload it after each use, I have a crane and straps to lift it all out easily.

If and when it comes in, I plan on not running it till next spring, so, I have time to work on it this winter.
