Yeah that's true, there isn't exactly much traffic around here, but a lot of people are anti-ev/hybrid around here.

Yeah I basically used that same badge but got rid of the synergy drive part (even though AFAIK the drive train is the same setup). I like driving hybrids.

If I get a hybrid AWD, I'd go for the OEM "Hybrid AWD" badge from other Ford models. A bit more discreet so it's more like, if you know, you know.

I am doing a chrome delete so the old hybrid emblem had to go. I bought an emblem from what I think was a rav4. I cut and sanded off the hybrid synergy drive logo and painted it with matte black bed liner.

Looks Good!

It doesn't matter much how you drive.

Vehicles with Hybrid badges get honked at more than those without. Fact.

I took my badge off on day 2.
Have not been honked at since. Fact.

That seems so weird to me - was not aware of that fact. I rarely use my horn. I find it impolite. Will only use it if startling the recipient will avoid an accident. Almost always my brakes are enough of a safety device. And being very aware of my surroundings. Defensive driver as I was taught.

Why would folks honk at Hybrids? Maybe honking at some hybrid drivers and their mpg maxing techniques would bring out impolite impatience in some honkers?

But your experience with removing your badge proves otherwise. Like I said - weird!

Maybe it is related to the fact that Mavericks get rear ended more than other vehicles? Folks following get distracted looking for the emblem until it’s too late?
