Today was 100°F.
Maverick sat in a hot parking lot all day. So started out with a "warm" battery.
Did ~40 miles of freeway.
End of route has a long (3-4 mile) downhill stretch. Usually with stopped traffic at the bottom. This is one of the rare cases I sometime hit "L" button to slow down.
Discovered no regen at all coasting in L when HV battery was 118°F , 119°F, 120°F.
Worked normally at 117°F.
The odd behavior was:
Normal strength of regen at 120°F using the brake pedal. Just none or too little to detect when coasting in L. Engine brake did work and was instantaneous from the L button press with a low (35%) HV battery. Battery SOC did not climb braking in L in this scenario.
We can't say the battery reached a limit and was protecting itself. Full regen occurred with brake pedal application.
(Was looking at amps on scangauge so I'm sure.)
So it's more of a "compromise" than a hard limit.
I was able to repeat the experiment three times today with consist behaviors.
