The topper is officially available for the mav, best shell available IMO and competitively priced, and weighs under 135lbs!!!. You should give the YouTube video a watch, pretty funny.

Very interesting, curious to see it on the truck, and curious how they chose to seal it around the bed (the common challenge).

It is very cool but it is much more expensive than a fiberglass one. $4000 is with no windows. Those add $200 a piece I think and are only available for the front and rear, no side options. They are also only in a few locations to avoid expensive shipping. They are very strong and can hold more weight than the trucks themselves, however crossbars are extra. Its a cool company and their camper tent is just plain awesome but by the time you add that to something like a Tremor, you could have bought a 4 door big Bronco with a locker. When I priced one that would work aswell as a $3500 fiberglass one it was at $5000 and I would still have to cut and purchase side windows for ventilation for my dogs.

Yeah to each their own, I’d prefer the completely opening side panels to sliding windows, my dog hangs out in the back seat and the “cabana mode” is sweet. The new ARE MX fully loaded is right at $4k, and probably about 100 lbs heavier than the GFC, which also don’t seem to lose their value at all, people are happily snatching them up used at MSRP avoiding sales tax, lead time, and shipping charges, can’t say the same with fiberglas shells. I’ll be adding one to my hybrid XL and keep my 48 mpg. I’ve got a built up and triple locked Montero for the small amount of trips we take when we actually need 4x4 or go to Baja. Wouldn’t trade it for a Bronco either and their weak tie rod ends/cv’s.

Definitely to each their own. I've never had a need for a hybrids complexity and mpg. But I also live on a tropical island the need for distance driving and bajaing isnt really there. I need serious 4wd to leave my house, go watch the waves at Jaws, not get stuck on the beach on the southside. Not even gonna get in to comparing a mitsubishi to a bronco, 2 entirely different things there.

But it just comes down to money on the GFC, which I think is awesome. Out the door after driving to Colorado(the closest place on my Maverick pickup mainland roadtrip) the GFC topper comes to $5900 with half the windows I need and a pair of racks. A Jason or Ranch topper with a fold up window on one side, a slider on the other, a fold down slider in the front so I can toss snacks to my dogs while driving, and a set of racks will come out just a hair under $4000 at any dealer I pick on my route. Thats another $1900 I dont really have or about 5.6% of the cost ofmy Tremor and a cap.

Their pricing is just firmly planted in the crowd of dudes who have too much money aka Bronco territory lol. If it was their camper setup at $5900 out the door. That is a whole other deal.

Also as far as hardcore offroading, this beat to death 91 Comanche Eliminator with a 3" lift, solid axles and a 2200lb payload rating, will go anywhere I can find on this island.

I love those old beasts. Honestly most of the mods I see around Vancouver are just for looks. People dump crazy amounts of money into already like $70,000+ trucks. I even saw a Kona with roof basket and dual awnings on it yesterday. Why?? The awnings are like 4 feet off the ground 😂.

whatever makes people happy I guess. Personally hybrid is pretty key for me in our crappy traffic, and will be sweet for getting away from the crowds too. I used to have a rad 2 door black 98 XJ, but the mileage was killing me. Also in my mind re the bed cap- if I was already gonna drop $2000 or more on a fibreglass shell that I felt like I could borderline make myself, I’d be tempted to just spend that chunk more to go for something rad and sturdy like this. I’m probably too cheap for either.

Im just doing a cap to convince my wife into a truck. Otherwise I would just put some racks and plywoood on the back of a Maverick and call it a day. Ofcourse the irony is that she probably would go for that and while I type this we a re watching Beverly Hillbiilies re runs. :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:

Our MX topper with rack rails, 2 custom windows, 4 interior hangers, and HPR tricoat paint just arrived at the dealership. We will pick it and our Tremor up next month. Cost $4000.
