GFC released a new product today, a topper without the pop up tent portion, I confirmed it’s available for the maverick, it’s pricey at $4k, but worth every penny IMO. Check out the YouTube vid, it’s hilarious.

Only $500 more than the hideous Snugtop sport, and will always hold its resale value, people pay MSRP for used GFC’s just to skip the lead time of having one built.

$4k is expensive but it is very strong. I will be considering it as we typically use our vehicles racks to haul stuff alot.

What I really need on a topper though is side windows with vents. Our dogs need air.

My dad built a brand new E150 van in 1984, my pregnant (with me) mother couldnt beleive he wanted to cut 6 holes in it for various windows. Umpteen(the legend varies) years later had my first time in that van, curtains closed of course!

Looks like they dont offer it at all, and the cheapest windows in that size range and vent style are around $200-300 a piece. That puts the camper right around $5000 for what we need. The Ranch model I quoted is about $3200 with racks/windows. I planned to add cab racks to make a 6-700lb load ability. So that may be enough.

I guess we will see what things($) look like when we get a VIN for our Tremor shows up.

How close to flat do the front seats go ? I am really, really cheap. I have slept in the car/truck from time to time. The tent is cool, but that price—Yikes !

I wonder how far forward the front seats slide to enable sleeping on the rear bench seat. Or is that a dumb idea. As far as the tent cap I think a regular tent makes more sense as well as many times cheaper.
