Looks like I might have to do that to mine when I get it haha thanks for the ideas hahainstalled new bed LEDs today. Fairly easy, but did take a couple hours to splice and run wiring. Cheap and nice lighting though.
Why Couldn't you just hook up to the pig tail in the bed? Isn't that on a switch?lights came with their own switch. Wired with the pigtail that came with truck. Ran one side underneath truck by spare tire/tailgate. I haven’t yet tested how long they stay on. I’ll try it out.
I've got the same kit on my truck. I used the DIY FLEXBED harness that Ford sent with the truck. Just positive/negative wire which isn't the same circuit as the OEM bed lighting. Why Couldn't you just hook up to the pig tail in the bed? Isn't that on a switch?
Thanks. They look great! One switch. Had to splice one connection and run under truck by spare tire/tailgate area. Was actually pretty easy and clean.
Yep. Trimmed.
I’m not sure what the other user did for his final installation but mine is 3M taped on inside left of bed near the factory light.
I have been considering the idea of using Red Leds so as to preserve my night vision, well... at least some.Ooooo I spy the same kit with the RGB option! Did someone say tailgate party??
Can you share where you installed the switch? Pictures?I used the switch that came with lights but I’m sure someone could probably tap into the factory bed light if they wanted to.
Not OP, but same kit. I'm mounting my switch next to the OEM switch (didn't have double face tape, but it's going here). Can you share where you installed the switch? Pictures?
