LEDs are amazing! Great install.

I bought a bicycle light set last month for $25 which is one LED in the headlight and a little blinky red for the back. The front adjusts in brightness and strobe. It's brighter than the setup my friend had in 1997, and lasts just as long, with a tiny built-in battery rather than his battery which was the size of a water bottle and weighed 5+ lbs! His was $250.

installed new bed LEDs today. Fairly easy, but did take a couple hours to splice and run wiring. Cheap and nice lighting though.

Looks great. Can you share pics or video of the splice and install connecting the two strips?

nice job, had you considered the third strip for the font on the bed? also, I thought maybe a good idea would be to connect to the led bed light switch (near the tailgate on the driver side). i think is was the crazy $200 option.

any chance you could add photos of your splice work?

lights came with their own switch. Wired with the pigtail that came with truck. Ran one side underneath truck by spare tire/tailgate. I haven’t yet tested how long they stay on. I’ll try it out.
Why Couldn't you just hook up to the pig tail in the bed? Isn't that on a switch?

I've got the same kit on my truck. I used the DIY FLEXBED harness that Ford sent with the truck. Just positive/negative wire which isn't the same circuit as the OEM bed lighting.

One switch. Had to splice one connection and run under truck by spare tire/tailgate area. Was actually pretty easy and clean.

Yep. Trimmed.

I’m not sure what the other user did for his final installation but mine is 3M taped on inside left of bed near the factory light.
Thanks. They look great!

Nice. Can't wait for the weather to get better so I can start doing this kind of stuff too.

I have been considering the idea of using Red Leds so as to preserve my night vision, well... at least some.

I used the switch that came with lights but I’m sure someone could probably tap into the factory bed light if they wanted to.
Can you share where you installed the switch? Pictures?

Looks great! Will definitely do this too once the weather gets a bit warmer. Too cold in the unheated garage to do this at the moment.

Some other more detailed install pics would be great though, (ie. wiring under the tailgate to the other side, switch install details, etc.).
