Well, I had ordered a 2023 XLT Lux hybrid, but no word from Ford up to this point on production and my daily driver (2013 Mercedes) was starting to worry me more than usual. More clunks and rattles than I’m comfortable with. So I traded it in on this, 2023 Nissan Frontier Pro-X. It’s my third Frontier (2004, 2011, now a 2023) so it’s not like I’m new to them, but if my daily conked out, it has zero resale/trade in value. I will still like the Maverick and follow its growth, maybe one day.

Good looking truck and smart move making the switch. I tried to buy a similar spec'd frontier when they first came out but my local dealers were only getting in extended cabs or base models. I ended up buying a jeep gladiator, but the Nissan dealer calls or texts me regularly because they have plenty of inventory now. It's night and day how much better those are than the last model. The new engine and 9 speed trans brought them up to modern standards.

I was originally looking for a cheaper model, but they knocked off the ADM and gave me what I asked for on my trade in. I couldn’t say no. It’s got every automatic ass scratcher available, I need to get used to the controls. I can sit here and look at what my tire pressure from my phone.

That’s a great looking truck.

I get it. I pulled the plug on my Mav order myself today and ordered a new Subaru Outback that I can get in three months.

Have fun with your new toy!!

Just saw a guy on ClubFrontier that did exactly the same thing I did but a couple of days before. Same truck, just a different color. The only reason why I have a Frontier instead of a Maverick is the slow manufacturing rate. Maybe Ford will understand that many prospective buyers want a Maverick or even Ranger sized truck instead of a F series and find a way to boost Maverick production.
