I need a simple light system in my bed so i can see stuff at night.don’t really want led lights but if thats the best way its fine.some simple instructions on connecting them to the factoring wiring in the rear would be nice also.i have a xlt so i think i can wire it in the rear cubby.

Several on this site have added LED magnetic strips to their bed…Harbor Freight has some cheap ones, but Amazon has several that are much brighter….I like them because they are so flexible, as in being able to move them.

I had two cob lights and got a switch, with a voltmeter 12v outlet and USB charger, and installed them on the panel on the passenger side. Wired with the wire that came with the truck. Lights up the bed very nice because of where I mounted them. One on each side.

No fuss solution, has worked quite well and has remained firmly magnetically in place for the sic month since cobbled it together.:

Lots of other posts here (plus a DIY from Ford) on installing LED strips if you choose to go that route.

Have you thought of buying the bed light that is in the Lariat LUX packagYou wouldn’t need to reinvent the wheel. I am nat expert on electric but from my experience with my model trains I have learned it is hard to mix LED and other 12 volt lights. Good luck
