Does anyone know if 17” wheels clear the lobo front brakes ? I can’t find any info just that it comes with different front brakes

Check out your spare. Pretty sure the Lobo comes with a 17", so it's not the diameter that would necessarily be the problem.

Wheel offset is another story...

Maverick OEM 17 alloy rims will clear. anything else it's hard to be certain without test fit.

Test fit is best check. Had one back in the day, 14" temporary spare, 15" wheels on the car, temp spare fits of course, try 14" alloys, couldn't even reach bolt holes. bouncing off the caliper. Try a 14" steel I had hanging around, because alloys are somewhat chunky monkeys, and I could just about get it on, but it was scraping. Used to be common in the past though that you could get a size lower steelies on than alloys.

However, the restriction on fit has been known to be at the back caliper on mavs, where a 16" couldn't be squeezed on, but if you do find 17"s in a cheap alloy instead of steels, be sure to check rear clearance as well as front.

Tire Rack now lists wheel/tire packages for the Lobo. That is very recent, before they always said they had nothing to fit the Lobo. They now offer 17", 18", 19" & 20" Winter packages for the Lobo. The good thing is they guarantee fitment.

I see they have a checkbox for standard or aggressive fitment.

With aggressive checked, I see it's suggesting a 245/45-20 which is not really that aggressive, but it's more useful than suggesting a 225.

With snow tires narrower is better than wider.

yes, and definitely not 20s. sorry, my comment was kinda off topic, but it was what I was curious about when I started digging into their Lobo options.

Well yeah if you're sure there's asphalt down there, within a foot or so, otherwise you wanna go full tundra buggy balloons.
Correct. I was assuming that since this is the Lobo forum we weren't talking about off road blasting thru 2 feet of snow in a national forest!
