Mystery Chime

Mystery Chime solved. The chime was coming from an Apple Air Tag with a low battery hanging from the rear view mirror.

Our Forester has a 'freeze warning' chime but an icon and text also appears in the instrument display, so we didn't have a mystery to solve. Nothing in the manual about it? I didn't used to read mine, but I cured myself of that habit, over time.

Mystery solved. The chime is an alert that the start/stop function is not active. I installed the Start/Stop Eliminator and when I disable the start/stop feature I get the chimes at the beginning of my drive. Reenable start/stop feature, no chime.

Interesting. They must not all do that. I have this one installed but mine doesn't make a chime sound when enabled or disabled. Well, atleast you got it figured out.

Sometimes I hear the chime, other times I don't. I wondered about that but if it is the ASS mine has not worked since the third day I owned the truck so that may explain it.
