Ordered 2022 Maverick mid Oct. 2021. Three weeks ago recieved email from Dealer with VIn # and Build date of Sept. 19th. Yesterday, recieved an email from Ford that my 2023 Maverieck order from this Dealer has been confirmed. What's Up? Did I get a Vin that belongs to someone else, or is the Dealer using my information to order a 2023 for Dealer stock?

A VIN is coded by model year.

So your (or anyone's) '22 VIN cannot be used to order a '23 stock or a '23 anything.

You could call Ford and ask them what the status of your order is and see if they have a VIN and if it matches up. If that is your correct VIN and it's in production then the question would be why the dealer placed a 2023 order in your name.

Did you check that the window sticker matches your order?

The Vin# I received matches up with my dealer order # and a '22 Window Sticker I pull up with the Ford order tracker.

Did you initiate a 22MY Rollover for a 23MY?

Since there is no automatic rollover, sounds like the dealer created another order using your info, and since COVP is not required on the 23 orders they may be trying to get stock order form your info.

I had the same experience. My 2022 order was built 9/1/22. I got the "your 2023 order is confirmed on 9/20/22. I took delivery of my 2022 Maverick on 9/22/22. I did not intentionally make any order for a 2023 Maverick. So the email about the 2023 order is a mystery.

It sounds to me like the dealer may have been covering your ass... They weren't 100% sure your '22 would get built, so they ordered a '23 in your name. I'd give them the benefit of the doubt until proven otherwise.
