Ford Maverick My MPG record in first 600 km! empeeg

Ummm,,, that's a smidgen on the high side. Doing the math for you, 100/22 = 4.54 recurring km per liter, 4.54../1.6 = 2.84 miles per litre, 2.84x3.8 = 10.8 Miles Per Gallon.

It's super weird too because it's calling them electric miles when the motor was running the whole time. It was basically, get in truck, turn on, start to back, motor fires up, runs while I get out of parking lot, and onto road, runs while I'm waiting 2 min at red light, cross to other side of street, and park that other side, strip mall to strip mall and shut off and it gives me that, heh.

Amused rather than worried, it has given me a 60mpg over a handful of mile trip.

If your battery 12v low. it will run gas portion to keep it charges. Try to shut down your A/C or other power draining devices.

Hi, I'm North East of you in Newmarket, and I've noticed now that the temperature has dropped that the engine runs more, even when I have the climate turned off. Unfortunately a normal thing as the temperature gets lower and lower. The Mav also hates short trips, actually not just the Mav, my 2017 Accord Hybrid hates them, my old non-hybrid CRV hates them.

I was hoping that the Mav would have been plug in hybrid by '25, but it ticked all the other boxes so went with it. At the end of the day I'm still getting way better mileage than the CRV it replaced and I actually like the Mav (like is not strong enough a word).

Ehhh - not really a correct description of what happens.

If the HVB is low, yes it runs the ICE until up at 40% SOC, then ICE shuts off unless needed for more power.

If the 12VB is low, then the BMS sends more power from the HVB to it. There is also more than enough power to fill rest of the 12V system needs.
This uses about 2-4 Amp total sitting there from the HVB, which can convert into from 10-20 Amp to the 12V system.

And the AC is NOT one of those - it runs from the HV system, not the 12V.

But for this trip, while the ICE is running, it should not have counted miles as electric.

Don't pay much attention to individual trips, especially short trips, there are too many factors that can make mileage wildly swing.

True, I regularly get 60+ mpg driving to work but still average 43 mpg overall.
