My 7 little ordering steps for attempting to secure a fair deal!

1. Ask Dealer Fee.
2. Ask if there is a deposit requirement.
3. Ask about other fees or charges.
4. Ask if your order sheet will be signed by the dealer rep before the order is submitted to Ford.
5. Will you submit my order today, with the COVP information included?
6. Can you send me a copy the order's DORA sheet as soon as you receive it.
7 Can you put priority code 11 on my order? (I don't want to be a pig)

Please let me know if I missed anything! Good luck!
Also, let me know it this works for you! I haven't tried it yet.

Number 2 is the only one I think is fine, but it depends on the amount. I was happy to pay the $500 because it meant my order had fewer to compete with since you had to put $500 down to place one. 😁

It's already applied to my out-the-door price.

These "rules" are the ones I now use to quickly get an idea whether I am talking to a good dealer or a questionable one. They are not at all necessary, if you have a dealer whom you can trust.

As for #2: a refundable $500 deposit is what I currently have on my deal and I would go so far as to say to avoid any dealer that says "Don't worry, we don't need a deposit"! Ive had two local dealers tell me that, and I ended up totaling losing confidence in each of them!

I posted this mainly to help newbies. I think I may have wasted less time finding a good dealer if I had a list like this 2 months ago. But as always, YMMV!

Thanks for your post, hopefully fewer people are scratching their heads now?
