Last Thursday (7/13/23) I got an e-mail that my Maverick XLT Hybrid is scheduled to be built the week of 9/18! I'm absolutely thrilled.

I am planning on ordering a Maverick Lariat Hybrid tomorrow, as soon as the order banks open, as insurance in case my MY 23 build date gets cancelled. If I actually get delivery of my MY 23 XLT, my intention is to go ahead and buy the MY 24 Lariat when it gets built and trade in my MY 23 XLT, assuming that the tradein value of the MY 23 Mavericks stays near what it is today.

A technical question: When I order the MY 24 Maverick tomorrow, should my dealer be using the same order number as my MY 23 order, or would this create a problem with my new order if my MY 23 Maverick gets delivered?

Ford is supposed to cancel the orders with the same order number as MY23 if the MY23 is built. If you want another truck, you'd want to talk to the dealer to get you a new order number. You want get any kind of price protection though, you'll have to pay MY24 MSRP.

I have been a little out of the loop. I have an Aug 25 build week for my XLT Hybrid.

If it is not built, will it get rolled over on its own? Is there any action I need to take tomorrow?

If your order is scheduled you can't put in a 2024 order as part of the 2023 unscheduled protection plan. You can put in a new order at full price and take your 2023 when it comes in September.

If your MY23 is scheduled, your MY24 will be treated as a new MY24 order and not a MY23 rollover. You can use the same dealer or a different one. But I would ensure both orders don't have the same order number or Ford may end up cancelling it via automation.

If you’ve got a build date, then your ok. Your MY23 will get built

You have a build date. You will get built. Order your MY24 as a new build. You’ll be fine.

What color did you order on your 2024?
