Mounting Front License Plates

Has any of you Maverick owner mounted your Front License Plates? If so, how did you do it? There are no mounting holes anywhere in the front of the vehicle.

No. The dealer asked if I wanted it and I flat out said no….technically it’s required but I didn’t want my front end (hybrid air openings too) drilled.

You’ll need to look for grill mounts. A simple Amazon search will get you started.

On my order, (Lariat trim) it has a line item for a 'Front License Plate Bracket' at $0. I take that to mean a bracket is supplied but not attached.

I was going to ask my dealer not to mount it, but now I might and get color matching plugs. That way I have the option in-case I get pulled over, or, I need to drive through States that require a front plate.

if you are from another state, front plates shouldnt matter in a state that "requires" them, and if a cop really writes you a ticket even after explaining you dont live there, and are just passing through, then thats BS.

I mounted mine on one of the Tow Hooks, but that ain’t going to work for a Hybrid.

If your state requires a front plate your dealer should install the bracket.

My state (WA) requires a front plate. I asked the dealer at delivery not to install the front plate bracket, and they honored that request. I did not want holes in my front bumper. I guess they don't want to be the front license plate police.
I took delivery of my 2023 on 1/31/2023 and made it to 12/20/23 without getting pulled over. No ticket written, just informational. I am glad I waited, now I find No Drill options in the market that were not there 10 months ago. Looks like zip ties will work from what I saw in another post. Hate drill holes in the front bumper, especially on the Maverick. It has such a nice clean look without the front plate.

Mine was installed by the dealer. Doesn't bother me any. They've been talking about not requiring front plates here for years. Doubt they will ever not require them. Plus I don't want to cover any ventilation over. Front and center or it would bother me haha
