I'm sharing this because Motoman is one of my favorite reviewers. He's a year late getting the Maverick, but his reviews are usually worth it. The hybrid crowd will like the review, because he gives it a big thumbs up. He does make two points I love. First the $20,000 price that so many love to throw around just ain't so in 2023. Second, it's got a crazy long wheelbase, meaning it doesn't turn like the classic small trucks of the 70s and 80s.

Here's the review...

Am I the only one who hates that the temperature gauges don't have the numerical read out of the temperature?

Now a days, idiot lights control our lives. Gauges with red equals bad, is the best we can get.

True that, but if you're using Apple CarPlay, does it pop up?

Nope, not in the XL. Can’t speak to the other trims.

BTW Scott, Great Video! Really enjoyed the content, very informative.

Thank you for posting this clip, as it was fun too watch.
He had me laughing when the tone of his voice changed when he said that it was now coming in at $24,000.00 for 2023 instead of $19,000.00 and that was the XLT.
My XL base with no options is $34,000.00 up here in Canada. A used 2022 XL with 15,000 KM goes for $50,000.00/$65,000.00 (On the west coast)
I do realize we are two different countries with different prices.

Meh - it bugged me on my Subaru Forester when I test drove it and the sales guy showed me how to change the aux screen to what they called "3 meter" and one of the metrics was oil temp.

In 9 years of having that view I can count on no hands how many times it was relevant.

The long wheelbase makes it ride very well. AND… as far as price goes, mine is a loaded 2023 Lariat with the Lux package and upgraded wheels, that I paid just $32125. Granted I got a $2700 rebate because I had ordered a 2022 that they were unable to build on time, but the only thing I didn’t get was the sunroof.

There's another fun channel, MotorMouth, where two personable Canadians (Zack and Andrea) in Vancouver review cars. They're constantly comparing prices in Canada in the USA. Feature for feature, sometimes Canada gets the better deal, and other times the USA.

Patience is the word. It is not easy, but I am so glad I waited. It took almost 16 months of waiting to get mine, but Ford upgraded my 2022 to a 2023 for the price of a 2022. If I drive it hard I get an average mileage of 28mpg… but, if I use the EV Coach and drive easy to keep up with the traffic, I have been amazed at the results! I have found that if I drive easy at between 40-50 mph, and have relatively few stops so I can continue at a steady pace, I am getting 50+ mpg! I thought… something has to be wrong, but the numbers don’t lie and I found an article from one reviewer who claimed averages well over 40mpg. I don’t want to create false hope, but you can certainly do better than the EPA estimate of 40 mpg. I look forward to seeing how it does when I pull my Harley Road King on a lightweight trailer on a vacation to the blue ridge mountains this summer. (Trailer and motorcycle weigh about 1100#… well under the 2000# tow limit)
