"The truck actually is that good. It’s small enough for easy maneuverability, and yet there’s tons of usable space, both in the folding tonneau-covered bed and the back seat. The Ford is very practically laid out, with nice touches such as the little extensions in the panels for pulling the doors closed.

Repeatedly, the compact Maverick was able to turn around in tight spaces that would foil an F-150. It uses a continuously variable transmission (CVT) to save fuel. These units have been vilified, but in this application it performed quite well—delivering steady thrust. The ride was neither too harsh or too soft, and the vehicle was surprisingly quiet, squeak- and rattle-free. The load height was also just right for loading the furniture that needed to be somewhere other than where it was. "
