You're thinking of the old block design. It's been updated/fixed. Right now the hybrid motors seem to be the duds. Also, there are two plants for the 2.0L ecoboost motor, fortunately the ecoboost in the Maverick is made in the Valencia Spain plant which has always been rock solid for quality. The 2.0L engines made in the Cleveland plant have been the unreliable problem ridden motors.

Sounds like there’s still an issue. I hope mine isn’t affected.

They fixed mine a couple months ago, been fine since and looks the same as the pics with copper portion showing, or whatever it is.
