I placed an order for a 2025 Lariat on 11/13, but after watching Maverick Mondays, I realized I’d need a Job 2 model to get the backup and trailer assist features.

I went back to my dealer to cancel and reorder based on the info from the Maverick Mondays update a few days later, but they told me they couldn’t cancel the original order. Instead, they just placed a second, identical order for me with the tow features added ($300 more).

Now I have two order numbers and VINs, scheduled to be built a month apart. Here’s the odd part—the earlier build (scheduled for January) still shows the trailer and backup assist features as included.

Is it possible to actually get these features with the earlier build, or is this likely a clerical error from Ford? If the January build does include the features, it could save me a month or more of waiting.

Anyone else run into this or have experience with features being delivered earlier than expected? Would appreciate some insight!

This is an error on Ford's part. You need to have Job order 2 printed on your DORA to be guaranteed the pro trailer assist package.

I hope not, mine is scheduled for Jan 6, I have the 4k, but I neither need or want the assist, and I sure don't want to pay for it.

You will not get the towing packing if your build is schedule for Jan. 6th. No need to worry.

I’m confused by all of this. If you order a new Lariat Mav, when will the tow assist be on the vehicles? I thought it was standard on some trims? Does this not take place till later in the year?

MY25 trucks built before a given date do not get the trailer assist features.

The tow assist package is part of Job 2 order. The parts for the tow assist were not available
Okay. Are there specific dates listed? Thanks for the help.
February 3rd is the magic date. This is when Job 2 orders are being produced.

mine is a 2/3 build, ordered (just) before the announcement on when ob 2 started.

So we'll see. I'm really fine either way, as I have no intent to tow, but assume that it will trade in for a pug in a few years.
