I get there are no constraints on the bed cover, there weren't on the liners or bed mat either. But as the poster above stated, something as simple as mud flaps caused one hell of a mess for Ford. That's why I didn't get any accessories from them directly. I didn't want to take that chance. How many other Mavericks has your dealer gotten in? How orders were taken there? What were their allocations for the Mavericks? All of those things play into it.

And your dealer wouldn't update you, Ford customer care would. I wouldn't rely on the dealer. If you know your Sales Code and Order Number, you can do everything from Ford chat.

The most frustrating thing about ordering the Maverick is by far the dealer allocation system. No way to tell if the dealership you are ordering from has a good amount of allocations or a crap amount of allocations, and depending on that fact alone, you might get your Maverick relatively quickly in a few months, or wait over 500 days just because of the allocations alone. No transparency from Ford or the dealerships on that front. The dealerships are happy to take your order, but whether or not you'll get screwed by allocations is a complete roll of the dice.

I wonder if anyone's ever made a chart of dealerships and estimated allocations based on the publicly-available data of the order tracker. Could try to correlate which orders came in relatively quickly and determine those dealerships are the ones that get the most allocations.

Yea, I made the mistake of ordering from a small local dealer I have been purchasing from for years! Love their service department honest & good work! Never had a problem with them! Can't say that about their sales dept!

The thing about the allocations system is that it theoretically let's small dealerships also have a chance of getting a Maverick. If your dealer only had a few preorders and you're one of them, then you should be golden. But if your dealership only gets a few allocations per month and there's hundreds of orders placed, you're probably screwed. No way to know other than hopefully your dealer is honest with you.

And then Ford also bases future allocations on sales figures and if they punish a dealership for something they didn't want them doing, then their allocations will also be affected. It's not like a dealership is gonna advertise that their allocations are bad, after all. So you could be placing an order at a trap dealership and you never know.

No wonder people placed multiple orders with multiple dealerships to increase their chances. I am sympathetic to this tactic given how Ford has totally screwed people over waiting patiently for their order only to be denied because of allocations.

OP nailed it in one word - DEALER. So much for the encouragement for hybrid buyers to switch to EB's. This is ridiculous. I ordered from a large dealer who set me as a Priority 10 on Day 1 (9/16/22). Lariat Hybrid Lux fully loaded is at railyard and hopefully will be at dealer within next few days. Ordered one from local small town dealer for my wife and nothing but 45 day emails from Ford. She gave up and found one someone had refused and I flew all the way to Detroit area to bring it back to TX. If by some miracle, her Lariat ever gets built, will sell the XLT hybrid.

I rented a Maverick for a weekend move just to see how it handled under load, and it surprised me. Super easy to drive and hauled more than I expected. If you’re ever in the Miami area and don’t feel like driving yourself, I’ve used miami car service before and they’re great for getting around without having to worry about parking or traffic.
