Nice review, the Tremor is the ripper in my opinion.

I didn't realize the Tremor could be easily adapted to a 4wd configuration. That locking rear differential capability is sweet. The Tremor is an off road sports car!

It's still based on clutch packs, so not quite a true 4x4 system with lockers, but it's damn good just based on my experience with the regular AWD.

Love my Tremor. The thing is waaaay more capable than some people give it credit for. I’ve stress tested it in some pretty sketchy situations and it also performs shockingly well. Wondering how some bigger tires would do 👀

Stepson drove his new Tremor around his dry property doing "stuff". not wanting to spin a tire he locked everything up. at every sharp turn he scalped the yard dragging a tire. while not mechanically locked like old 4WD systems I think it's way more robust/capable than some folk want to give credit. this system adds the ability to shift more power left/right as conditions demand, something conventional systems can only dream of. of the dozens of offroad reviews I've watched on the Badlands and Tremor not one complained about any loss of traction or slippage. I'll take actual experience over opinion any day.

had Ford added the water cooled/lockable PTU to the FX4, it would have tempted me with the 4K even without the .8" lift. well no, not really but it would have been nice.

Agree. I took mine up a sketchy mountain pass road in Colorado that only hikers, side by sides and jeeps were using and it made it fine. Got some crazy looks from people wondering what/how the hell I was up there.

Still getting used to my Tremor. Not sure if I understand every option. On my Toyota RAV4 (sadly retired), the 4WD Lock would disengage above 40 Km/h (on the grounds that if you can hit 40 Km/h you don't need 4WD).

On my Tremor, I can manually engage 4WD in "Normal" Mode to override Intelligent AWD. But why would I want to do that in Normal Mode. With "Mud & Ruts", "Slippery" and "Sand", 4WD is automatically engaged. The computer then decides how much power to send fore and aft and how much power to send to each wheel.

If I lock the rear diff, this means that 50% of the power sent to the rear wheels is sent to each rear wheel, but the computer still determines how much power to send to the rear. Is this correct?

So many people down play the Locking Twin Clutch when that system 100% locks the rear diff. Now I believe it is a cheaper option for Ford to install on the Maverick and Bronco Sport that really works.

Man, I wish I would have bought a Tremor instead of my FX4!
I specifically avoided it for the added MPG but I'm certain I could get roughly the same MPG I'm getting now in my FX4. I wanted the 4k originally and I wasn't sold on the Tremor entirely but I'd definitely be happy in one too knowing what I know now. Oh well, too little too late. It's mine for at least 5 more years w/ the warranty.

I drive conservatively in my Tremor in city only and pulling 22.6 mpg. Not as good as a fx4 but still not bad.

stepson did a weekend road trip to Defiance over the weekend, just about 300 miles 80% highway and did a snapshot mpg for the trip. he claims it beat his wife's BS Badlands mpg for the same trip.
So far I'm matching your numbers, no highway.
