Maverick Tailgate Lettering / Letters

Had my lettering added this past Saturday and finally got some good pictures of them on a clean tailgate. These obviously aren't from Ford and they fit in to the inset instead of the way Ford's seem to stick out a little. Personally, I like the thinner vinyl rather than the thicker ones from Ford, and these aren't going to cost $99-109.

I think they came out pretty solid and will have to add some to my wife's Cactus Gray hybrid whenever it comes in.

PS- this is about the closest I could find to the Area 51 color currently.

Have you considered tinting the tail light lenses? I think that looks awesome on a black vehicle.
'No color is as classy, and none looks better than black... but man, it's hard work keeping it up. I know, I've had a few over the years. Including my current ride. A thorough detailing lasts about a day, lol.
Anyway, your Mav looks excellent.

One unrelated question though:
A 'BEARS' plate-frame on an Alabama plate? WTF ???

Black would tie in the rest of the truck BUT if you want it to pop, I would say white or, like, a red

U can get white,Black, or Red with the buit-in night reflective lettering on eBay for $28.00

Im getting my Maverick tomorrow in Shadow black. Im thinking of doing orange letters on the tailgate and the getting the emblem covers as well. Not sure what to do though. Im thinking about matte black on the front and orange on the back...

Thoughts?

I like the idea of a vivid color on that black background, but gotta' be careful. To only do the 'MAVERICK' lettering (in red or orange, or yellow for instance) risks it looking like run-of-the-mill commercial lettering, like on a tradesman's truck.
For it to look slick, there'd need to be other striping/highlighting in the same color elsewhere too... and with matching brake calipers.
Black and Blue is always a good combo.

I'd like to get the black reflective, and also do calipers, but blue or black on the calipers? What do y'all think?

I'd choose red calipers in your case, over black. And wouldn't even consider blue.
Red calipers, with the FX4 appliqué, on the VelocityBlue truck would look primo.

Looks awesome! I ordered mine in black and had been wondering how the stainless lettering would look. The polished steel really pops.

That's what I'm talkin' about! I'm waiting for my XL Cactus Gray Mav and those black tailgate letters look great on it. (Are these the ones that look black in daylight but reflect white at night?) I think once I get an "order scheduled" notice I will go ahead and buy the letters, just to have something in hand while I await the truck. Nice wheels and tires there too buddy!

Mine also and I would prefer matching blue for the calipers. The only contrasting color I want, is the reflective white of my tailgate letters. If those letters came in reflective Alto Blue though, I would jump on them in a heartbeat!

The problem, at least in my view, is that you'd never be able to get a decent 'match' to the AltoBlue for the brake calipers. And any other type of blue on them would just clash.
Better to go with a totally different, contrasting color.
I'd love to see a Mav fitted-up with chrome-reverse wheels and BabyMoon hubcaps...plus the polished stainless tailgate lettering.
On AltoBlue.
