I have a 2022 XL Hybrid that I took delivery on in DEC. 2021 so its a very early hybrid. I have had numerous problems that for the most part the dealers have not been able to resolve. ie surging feeling when cold started and in drive with brakes on, dash rattle, loud rattle from engine when cold started in very cold temps and also a battery going completely dead. When the battery died my wife parked the car and when she walked away from it it was still chiming like it does with key in and door open. 4 hours later she returns to car and its stone dead.
Dealer "could not reproduce" but it did happen again and I was able to get a video of it. If you insert key and cycle it, it does resolve, but this should NOT be happening.
Anyone else experience this?

I have a ā€˜23 XLT and noticed this morning that when I took key out and opened the door it didn’t shut off like normal. Usually as soon as I open the door it shuts down. When I locked the door though it did turn off completely. I don’t trust auto shut-off anything so I would never walk away if it was still on but hopefully this doesn’t happen often.

Hi there. This key concern doesn’t sound like something we want you to experience with your Maverick. Could you please send us a PM with your VIN and the name and location of your Ford dealer? I'd be happy to look into how I can assist you on my end.

I’d bet anything you have the bad positive battery cable issue others have. See this post:

That would most assuredly be the first thing I’d check or *make* your dealer check if you can. But they like to think they know better, so you may have to do it yourself first. But you’ll have to be prepared to fix it if you do or have it towed because once you pull that lug off the cable, which is likely just secured *sorta* by the heat shrink, there’s no going backward without fixing it right.
