Yes, true, the 6G Ranger is getting more attention than previous. Many tacoma fans are not liking the new looks of the 4g Taco as well (me being one of them). So I'm very curious to see the sales between the 4g Tacoma and 6G Ranger next year.
I don't understand why Toyota put dress ties coming down from the headlights on the new Taco. It looks stupid. Without the ties it would look good.

Yes agree, that is one of the ugliest thing on there. It looks like a fake vent or something, maybe they didn't know what to put there so they put that. It's sort of like a mid cycle make over since it resembles the 3G, the grille looks identical.

Based upon the numbers, it sure looks like Maverick sales are killing the Ranger. Perhaps the poor MPG of the Ranger makes the logical choice a base F150 or a Maverick; depending on your needs.
When I crashed my Maverick, I went out and ordered another one even before the estimate. Then, when it got totaled I went out and bought another Mav off the lot in hopes that it wouldn't lose too much, now it looks like the Mav bubble is going to burst but I hope not before my new Mav hybrid comes in. It's a fully loaded Lariat EcoBoost.

Not only did I not like or need the Ranger as much, I thought the Ranger would be a better value for resale.

In defense of the OP, Ranger has enough open orders to last two weeks. The demand for that vehicle, even when not being built for three months, is next to nil.
I ordered a Ranger Lariat and couldn't get a 2.7L. MSRP for it is $51,000.

No chance I am buying it.

I love Ford Rangers 2011 and down. When they had they rereleased in America I was disappointed. It was no longer a little truck. So I planned to hold onto mine. Now I have the Maverick and couldn't be happier. Sure it feels a bit bigger, but the adjustment was super easy.

The Ford Maverick filled a void for many people who were lost when they increase the size of the Ford Ranger. Sure it gained people, but it sure as heck lost people too. Not sure if the Maverick is cannibalizing Ranger sales, but it sure is giving people something tantalizing to consider.
Everybody jumped on the "bigger is better trend" Glad Maverick bucked that
trend. Now the Ranger get's the same MPG as the bigger trucks, not much incentive.
