People already want to call this thing a "UTE" or a "Trucklette" now you want to slap that silly sounding name on it to add insult to injury....

Come on man!!!!

Im sure everyone would have been happier if the Maverick was called a Ranchero, since it is a car based truck. And the Mach-E was called a Maverick since it is enviro/eco sporty people hauler.

Ford was just so afraid that the Mach-E needed the Mustang name to be poplular, even though the original Maverick was not far behind the Mustang in popularity in their day.
Leave it alone!! Maver is fine!! Wish mine were here! Like original mustang ford said “ DESIGNED TO BE DESIGNED BY YOU”. The cocumer. Lots stuff to add—-Etsy, Temu, Amazon, just look!

I can live with either name. I had a 4th and 6th gen Ranchero. My 68 was pretty nice when I got it for 1700.00 and drove it a few years. The 73 was just ok at 2500.00. Neither had AC which is kind of a must when it's 105 out side. Gas mileage was not very good but gas was way cheaper back then.

Besides, Ranchero front ends looked like car models of those years. So what car does the Maverick front end look like?
I had a '73 too. I liked mine until I broke it. Something to do with "Dukes of Hazard" or something.
Learned my lesson on that one.

I currently own a 1963 Falcon Ranchero, original V8 4-speed. My first new car was a 1971 Maverick. My new Maverick certainly has a lot of creature comforts over the Ranchero, which is BASIC in nature as was the original Maverick. The one thing they all have in common is fuel economy.
