A few years back I shopping for a Fiesta ST with my X Plan and several dealers said they don't like to use it because they can get me a "better price" than the X Plan could, but then tack on mandatory add-ons and fees that instantly erase all savings they "created". I'd rather get a headache-free fair deal than a hard fought good deal any day. I'll be using X plan when the time comes and won't be working with any dealers that try to say they can get me a better deal without it.

Deposit? My dealer didn't ask for a deposit. And I didn't think that you could get an X Plan Pin without a VIN? Am I missing something?

A dealer budged and took my order. I don’t know the official z plan price but using the math and the price sheet I have an estimate. They said they couldn’t get the price until the invoice was generated. I did have to give a $500 deposit which is refundable. Happy to find one that I felt comfortable with and would do the order.

My dealers system still doesn’t show plan pricing as well…. Watched them try to pull it up yesterday and it just shows as NA. Have an agreement to pay X-plan at delivery and is indicated on my build sheet.

I never bought a new vehicle and I'm
lost in this conversation. Will someone put the A/X/Z plans in "leman's terms" Thanks

For reference on my order preview. MSRP was $26815. Invoice $26201. AZ plan $25399. X plan $26371.

So sad because back in the day x plan was way better deal. Like sometimes nearly 8% below msrp.

My local dealer is continuing to hound me to order, even though I've been clear with them that I want X plan or I won't buy. Simple as that.

I cannot wait until the dealership sales model is dead. It won't be long...

It still may be on some vehicles. The Maverick has very little margin for dealers.

Thanks for the link. I've heard of the "you pay what we pay" pricing but not these plans. Unfortunately I won't qualify for any of them. Good luck to everyone, I hope we don't end up with a 🍋!!
FWIW, you actually could qualify for X plan if you want, all it takes is a one year digital membership to Mustang Club of America for $35.With that said, I'm still waffling on whether it's worth messing with. Doesn't really seem to be of much help on actual price of car but seems helpful in preventing excessive dealer add on fees. Dunno if the latter could just as easily be achieved by shopping around though?

Keep in mind that a lot of dealerships are also playing dumb. I don't think they're incentivized from Ford to sell you a vehicle with X plan, so many are making it sound like it hasn't launched yet.

The VIN is only needed when the X-Plan purchase is being completed. Once you have a PIN you are not even limited as to what you buy. You could walk in to buy a Maverick and leave with a Mustang GT Convertible!

It may not be lazy dealers. It may be uninformed dealers- like myself. I spent hours on the phone with Ford today, because I could only get NA to show up. Ford had no idea, but I finally got assistance from another dealer and *boom* all the plans are visible.

Tell your dealer to change their order Type from Retail to A Plan. They will see all the plans then.
I sent this to my dealer and they were able to do it now. They said thanks!
