Hello, maverick will be arriving soon. Those who have had some time to drive the hybrid train what are some things you have noticed. Any current issues that you have come across? How is the cabin noise? Is the mpg close or similar to what was listed by Ford?

I mean, road noise is comparable to other vehicles in this price range? I've heard folks complain about it being loud, but it seems fine to me. Same with the ride quality.

Adjusting to the CVT has been the hardest only because I'm so used to feeling the gear changes in my old Versa that I end up driving faster than I intend to just because the power delivery is so smooth.

For gas mileage, I've only had it for a month and it's been balls cold for a lot of it here in Northwestern Wisconsin... but I'm still averaging 38mpg. I expect it will be much better when the temperatures rise.

I think it is all about managing your expectations and what you are used to regarding cabin noise and ride. To me it rides nicely and doesn't seem overly loud inside. The fit and finish on my wife's 2017 Honda EX Civic is nicer though, and we have a 2,500 mile roundtrip road trip coming up this summer and will probably take the Honda.

Only driven about 650 miles so getting used to maximizing mpg with a hybrid, but would say better than I expected.

The infotainment screen is pretty basic (my wife's 2017 is better) and the speakers are not very good but do the job (barely).

Of course, I was driving an '06 Subaru with 184,000 miles before I got this truck so that may have something to do with it!

I find it more comfortable and quieter than I expected.
I do too.

Except when it clanks, clunks, shakes, rattles, shudders, and brakes grab very, unnervingly hard.

I have had my Maverick XL with hitch, rear window and copilot 360, ordered Oct 1 2021 received Feb 15 2023. I really enjoy the truck fun to drive and have made several personal modification to make it one of a kind.

1) build quality is low I have found several spots like behind rear lights, under tail gate removable section were grey paint assumed primer not body color these are not crevices these are right in open.
2)Noticed heavy gas smell in oil around early on. Was planning to change oil at 1000 miles. Took a 2.5 hour drive the other day noticed the gas smell in oil went away. Assume it was part of break in and short drives. Performed first oil change 1,400 miles no gas smell oil was clean but had odd green tinge but looked clean other wise.
3) MPG 1,400 miles 38.6 MPG mix of city and hwy. HWY miles is not real great average low 30's running cruise at 70+, city mid 40's when actively trying to run EV.
4) Comfort seats are very comfortable but have found on bumpy roads your head bounces on head rest causing head ache.
5) Cabin Noise level seams relatively quiet compared to average vehicle.
6) Radio and speaker, I was expecting much worse from some of the reviews I seen. By no way am I saying it is great but unless you are a music nut it is adequate but when I get some time and miles I am going to replace the front door speakers. I have seen the people that have replaced them and seeing the size of the magnet on the front speakers is ridiculously small.

Modifications I have performed and my thought I each one.
1) Bed soft role up cover on ebay $170. This was better than expected. Has weather seal on both sides, rear tailgate and comes with cut to fit rear weather against cab. This also has 2 cross bars built in for support. I have had no problems with leaks. It does seam to kind of lift in wind but has not caused any issues so far.
2) Installed front light bar between hood and grill. I recommend running to driver side marker, didn't work well for me running to day light front lights.
3) Installed replacement KIA auto dimming rear view mirror. The connections on MTC for dome light are wrong at least for my vehicle so be careful.
4) Added LED under rail color lighting in bed of truck connected to driver side pig tail. Easy to do but pig tail only has power when key is on or before time out after removing key.
5) Added 12VDC USB/USB-C, 12V DC cigarette lighter plug to passenger side storage cubby via 2nd pig tail on passenger side.

Several other as well.

Enjoy and good luck when you get your truck.

Really expected to see allot of snarky replies (use the search, start browsing the forums, these questions have been covered multiple times, etc...) to this thread. However, y'all are pretty kind. Lots of folks willing to offer up a Cliff Notes version of sorts to someone who just signed up and made their first posts. Kudos to y'all for taking the high road! :)

I suspect it would have gone differently had they posed this on the MTC FB Group.:ROFLMAO:

I'm always impressed by the helpful exchanges and restraint exercised here on the forums. (I try, but I really have to bite my tongue with Flippers... LOL)

CanadaFord1 when you receive your Maverick, please share some photos and first impressions.

I keep seeing folks say the speakers are bad -- but they sound find to me? Basic car stereo. Mid's are fine, bass is acceptable.

Maybe my hearing's just so shot that I can't tell. 😆
