Maverick Heater Vent not opening !!

I have a 2023 Ford Maverick Hybird and I recently noticed that when I switch the Heater Vent to the lower legel (feet), no heat comes out from passenger and driver side!! The heater port light comes on but no heat can be felt despite the fan working.

I have switched the port to Upper, or Defrost and they BOTH work. Has anyone else experienced similar problemes
with their Maverick!? Any recalls related to this ?!

Sounds like the blend door is stuck. I'd make an appointment with your local Ford dealer and have them investigate it. It should be a pretty easy open-and-shut case since it's easy to replicate.

Thank you. I had Heater Core issues in other cars where the was little heat would come out, but this is a new one. I am assuming this should be covered under warranty?!

Yeah, it's either the door stuck or the blend door actuator went kapoot. I dont know about the Maverick but some have to have the dash removed to replace a 30 dollar actuator. Bizarre. Good luck.

Because those are tied to the other dash vents, not the footwell outlets. Edit: unless you just took a picture of the center vents to show you have the lower selected.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts. It is no wonder why Ford is the leading OEM when it comes to Recall costs. I would not expect these kind of issues with a brand new Lexus, but I guess as a Ford owner now I have to severly adjust my expectation of quality.

Recalls are different. They are usually tied to safety issues. This is just a "stuff happens; that's what the warranty is for" issue.

I would not expect these kind of issues with a brand new Lexus, but I guess as a Ford owner now I have to severly adjust my expectation of quality.

Depends on what you define as quality. Luxury cars in my opinion just allow the manufacturer to use nicer (or more) materials and focus more on power and features and less on cost and fuel economy. My Lexus RX450h had felt lining in the center console so that things inside didn't rattle.

Basically the case with any vehicle now-a-days. You'd think they'd make the parts easy to replace, but more like, they make them easy to put together on the assembly line and hope that nothing goes wrong.

My brand new (9 miles on it) Honda HR-V had a stuck blend door that I discovered during the test drive. I bought it anyway. Parts took 3ish months to arrive, and the entire dash, center console, and both front seats had to come out to replace it. Took about 3 more follow-up trips to fix incidental issues that broke (like the shift boot collar and random trim pieces that were misaligned).

Also I'm pretty sure the technicians short-cutted something, because there was an occasional rattling sound in the dash after all that. My guess is wiring harnesses weren't properly resecured or one or more of the several dozen clips that hold everything together were misaligned or sheared.

That's one of the big problems that arise when a dash is pulled...squeeks and rattles.

Yes that the picture when I switch between the blend door options! When I switch to the defrost and the dash ports; the heat comes out but not in the state shown in the image !

Will have to check that on my 24 EB Lariat... Only had it a couple of months, but do run in automatic pretty much all the time.

In a sort of related question.... Is their a way to completely shut the dash vents (when in automatic)? My 2020 Escape had a vertical wheel you used to close, no such thing on the Maverick. Ya, you can almost close by moving vent delivery adjuster all the way to the left or right, but when the heat is not on, they all leak cold air.

Maybe a possibility: As I understand it if the humidistat detects the cabin is close to dew point the AC compressor is activated to lower the humidity. It circulates the air slowly into the footwell and/or the dash defrost vents. Will not blow at the fan speed you have selected. If you can turn on the tummy/nipple vent and it blows at the fan speed you selected it should not be the automatic humidistat defrost cycle. Try upping your level 2 fan speed to 4 or 5 as 2 may be hard to feel in footwell, it is actually pretty low.

If you move the direction selector lever all the way over (towards door? Or maybe other way also?) it shuts off the air!
ETA: I have not noticed leaking but maybe it does?

Probably blend door issue. Some have posted mice in cabin. I have had mice nest on top side of cabin air filter but no indication they came past the filter.
