I wanted a manual slider on my XLT when I ordered it, i felt the price was reasonable, but it kept requiring the CP360 package that I did not want when I tried to virtually build it. So I ordered the truck with a solid back window.

That being said I am a car guy, and a thinker. I restore the olde Junque as a hobby. I have also done glue in windshields and the old timey ones with rubber gaskets. The back window on these is just glued in with black urethane in a caulking tube like everything else made these days. What I am going to do is wait a few years until theres a million of these dammed things running around, and the aftermarket for glass is up and running, then I will call my buddy at the local glass place, and ask him the cost on a rear slider for a maverick. I'm guessing it will be about $300.

Since they have arguably better tools for removal without damaging paint, plus I lack time to mess with this stuff lately, I will probably have his guys put it in. My 94 silverado needed a front windshield recently. The glass only cost me $115. Why? Because it was the same windshield from 1988-1999 on all chevy and GMC pickups and suburbans.

Heck a tinted rear cab glass for it was only $100. Once theres enough of em out there, the aftermarket gears up with replacement parts. You can always have your salvage yard do a search since being these trucks have been out for a year, some of them are ending up in the boneyards as totals. A used rear glass off a 1 year old truck ain't really used.

I wanted the sliding rear window on my MY23 XL order, but the new configuration required also adding CP360 or something like that for another $650. I didn't want to spend $800 on a small manually sliding rear window.
Bummed they made this change, because I wanted the window for my dog.
I had inquired about the CP360 requirement for the XL / rear slide window.... And here is what I learned. The rear slide window limits a bit of visibility out the back when using the rear view window. So it's thought that folks with a rear slide window will use the side mirrors more. The Maverick team decided if the truck had a rear slider window (which of course might have stuff stuck through it) which comprimises visibility a bit, they wanted the driver to be able to remotely adjust the side view mirros to gain better visibility behnd the truck.

Not an Issue with Lariat or XLT.. they have power mirrors... The XL didn't... So if you add a Slider to it, you also need to add Power Mirros.... The CP360 package is the means to do that... And of course you also get the visibility enhancements of CP360... to compensate for some lost visibility due to the rear slider window. (of course with an XLT.. the power mirrors alone are enough to get the slider without having to add CP360).

So yeah, that's the Ford Maverick team's explanation on why the rear slider on the XL ends up approaching $805 in total costs.

Back to my topic... Yeah.. I want the rear slider for my two dogs as well... It's nice on my Nissan Frontier to have the dogs being able to engage with us through that window.

But if you saved $1000 on your insurance because of the added safety feature of the CP360, wouldn't that be worth it?

My insurance runs $1080 per year for 4 vehicles. I'm 54 and own my home. House is bundled with auto. No tickets or accidents. It's going up just a little bit with the maverick. I didnt order CP360. I'm a good driver. My track record proves this out thru my insurance costs.

I may have to pick your brain. I'm about $1500 a year on 2 vehicles... with squeeky clean records and no accidents (sans a back window shattered on my Frontier).

I'm starting to see some nice available Mavericks within driving distance (under 300 miles) that are equipped well enough for me. I might just grab an XL and not sweat the Sunroof, Rear Slider. I can add cruise of course and always buy nice 17" wheels from compatible FORD vehicles on Ebay or here. And I won't have to spend for the BAP on an XLT to hide that ugly interior.

In the end my only must haves are EcoBoost, AWD, 4K Towing. I can get mudflaps, sprayin bedliner, from dealer and do the Cruise following instructions here.... And of course locate some C-MAX/Focus/Escape/Maverick/Bronco rims.

Allstate, home and cars bundled. I live in a small town in the middle of nowhere west Texas. Damn, I fat fingered this. Its $1080 on 3 vehicles not 4. Full coverage on wifes van, liability on my old pickup, and my old daily driver. About $90 per month. Maverick will double that to $200 per month since it's new and full coverage. That's still only $2400 per year on 4 vehicles. My 07 mustang GT is on a seperate policy with Hagartys for $500 per year $19,000 total loss replacement policy.
