Every time I think I’m done modifying or accessorizing my Maverick, someone comes along with something that just has to find its way onto my truck. At times, it is something another MTC member has done to his own that I find I must copy. Other times, it’s a new product that I find difficult to pass up. That item can be something new in the marketplace, or an item that improves upon something I previously purchased. Most recently, it has been three items brought out in rapid succession by Mabett. The first of these is a new panel door for my truck bed storage cubby. What is different with this Mabett release is that it can be ‘locked’ with a three digit numerical code. I don’t secure valuables in my cubby, just a number of rechargeable LED hazard warning lights and a magnetic hazard strobe for mounting on my roof. Mabett’s lock may not prevent someone from prying the panel open with a screwdriver or other tool, but it does offer another layer of deterrence from curious eyes. A simple, but useful improvement over the OEM panel.
Mabett also released a mesh elastic cargo net for the truck bed and an improved windshield Sun screen. I see other members are beginning to comment on these products. I’ll leave it to them to address the other items comprising Mabett’s hat trick.
