We already have one Maverick, came with the OEM hard tri-fold cover...it's been OK but it's kind of annoying in several ways (heavy, too much extra hardware, etc etc). I just got our second Maverick (well, picking it up this week but I already drove it) and the OEM soft trifold is exactly what I'm looking for in a cover:
  • Easily opened
  • Doesn't block the rear window
  • Easily removable when needed
  • Doesn't require extra hardware
Now, I could just buy another one of the OEM soft trifolds and remove the hard tri-fold that came with her Maverick. But I'm assuming there's some aftermarket options out there that might save me some money? I hope anyway. Because until she's happy she's gonna make sure I'm not happy. :cwl:

If the OEM tri-fold is the best option that's fine, but I'd love it if there was a 3rd party one. Not going to count on a roll-up: those all seem to need extra hardware.

The OEM cover has clamps built in that attach it to the top of the bed. All you have to do is unlock and open them to open the back, and to remove, unlock and open the front ones after it's folded all the way open. Near as I can tell anyway: they had just gotten the thing off of the truck and hadn't finished prep yet. But I didn't see any additional hardware except the cover itself.

I suggest using plastic wrap, it clings all by itself, no tools required. It may take a few boxes, still a relatively cheap option!

If this is the cover, it has some "extra" hardware.

Any of the Soft Tri-Fold Tonneau Covers you see on Amazon should meet your requirements. I bought a TIPTOP but I suspect they're all made in the same factory. https://www.amazon.com/TIPTOP-Roll-Up-Tonneau-Cover-Maverick/dp/B0BF9LH5Y4

It costs a little more than the boxes of cling-film plastic wrap that SP1966 suggested, but if you ever need to carry something (or someone) in the bed, you'll be glad to have a cover that isn't see-through.

Ok based on this diagram I see why I didn't see any of it. It's not "none" but it's extremely minimal and won't get in the way. Just some very minimal places for the clamps to grab that don't appear to impede much at all. I find that acceptable at least.

The hard trifold, the rails stick out enough to make it a little annoying to put a 2x8 into the vertical slot near the tailgate,

I ordered the tiptop trifold for my Maverick from Amazon and love it.
$159 is a great price. I have no complaints.

I've had this on my 23 XLT for a little over a year and am very happy with it?
