You could always do a projector lens retrofit that accepts a regular bulb, it's pretty common for custom headlight shops to do. Honestly it's not worth worrying too much about since they'll be under warranty for 3 years, and after that the diode itself is probably a generic diode that can be soldered on like JASmith said.
Most def but that would look kinda weird to me in our huge headlights

The headlights perform amazingly

I might have missed the thread where people complain about all Mavericks coming with power windows
XL should have crank windows because I don’t want to have to replace the window motor gizmos

It's $1100 or $1400 because it's a brand new vehicle and design and your only hope is OEM. Once the aftermarket gets ahold of it they'll be cheaper. These aren't going to jostle or break, etc. Besides it's far more than just one diode per light. As long as 50% are working they still "work".

You're far more likely to be the wire break to the light than the led light going out. And, for. Hybrid at least. They use far less power than any other kind of bulb.

OK. An LED "chip" light. You can buy them for just about any vehicle, and I've put them in an F150 with ease. Spending $1700 on entire assembly is crazy.
Hi, Where have you bought them? Are there any for the Maverick? Can attach a link if possible?

Extended warranty (10 year, 100K) for about $1600 probably is a good deal in view of this risk. The installation is probably another $500 or so.

Insanity. So someone with a base mav has to spend 6% of the sticker on a replacement headlight assembly if the headlight goes out. So many 'rights' on this truck but, the LED headlights are a definite oversight. They're cool, dont' get me wrong. But nobody buying that truck wants a $1200 light. They want to slap a $5 bulb in and go along with their day.
Where are you getting a $5 headlight bulb that isn't garbage.

This could be a deal breaker. I'd pay $20 for replacement LED bulb, but not $1700 for an entire light assembly. Somebody put that bulb in there to begin with, so there's gotta be a way to get it out.
I get your angst about the price difference, but there's no bulb per say. They're light chips embedded into a circuit strip which is most likely a non-replaceable part of the headlight assembly. Unlike the replaceable halogens, the LEDs will last longer and probably won't need to be replaced. Peace of mind, at least.
