Can someone verify if the LED headlights are serviceable as in the bulbs can be replaced. I was told by a freind that his GM vehicle requires that you replace the entire headlight assembly.

No it is my understanding all manufacturers that have l.e.d. Lights need to be replaced as a whole unit

Yeah, this is my biggest maintenance concern for my Maverick. LED lights can last a really long time, but can die prematurely. Hope if I have issues, it's while under warranty!

This actually probably keeps me from customizing my head lamps. Hate to lose the time, effort or money and possibly give them a reason to not honor the warranty should they fail. 🤔🤓😳

I was just at the Ford dealer and was told if the LED headlight dies you must replace the The entire headlight assembly. I didn’t get a price but for Ranger it’s $1,700.00.

The MSRP for an XL/XLT lamp is around $1,170/per and a Lariat lamp is like $1,450/per if memory serves.

Insanity. So someone with a base mav has to spend 6% of the sticker on a replacement headlight assembly if the headlight goes out. So many 'rights' on this truck but, the LED headlights are a definite oversight. They're cool, dont' get me wrong. But nobody buying that truck wants a $1200 light. They want to slap a $5 bulb in and go along with their day.

totally stupid if true. Makes no sense at all. I've replaced halogen bulbs with LED's on F150's with no problems.

Totally disagree. LED headlights are a definite right! Safer for you and the odds of one going out before the truck dies are slim

This could be a deal breaker. I'd pay $20 for replacement LED bulb, but not $1700 for an entire light assembly. Somebody put that bulb in there to begin with, so there's gotta be a way to get it out.

It’s not a bulb. It’s just one or two individual led chips in each reflector.

OK. An LED "chip" light. You can buy them for just about any vehicle, and I've put them in an F150 with ease. Spending $1700 on entire assembly is crazy.

There's gonna be a lot of hacks to this truck. Someone will rig a way when the Light Emitting Diodes go out or retrofit halogens. I wouldn't let it be a deal breaker but, it something they definitely should not have done.

No you haven’t. You’re thinking of a drop in led bulb. Maverick does t have any sort of led bulb. See attached pic. All it has are individual ones of these in each reflector. (Not pic specific as this was just first thing that came up in google)

If someone retrofits halogen bulbs, they need a therapist
