At any car wash you are allowed to stay in your car, if you wish, even if it is not standard.
I did this with my 2005 hybrid because they were so new back then.
Im new and hope this is going to gpsman as i have found your other posts more than useful. i too have mav hyb and prior to this i use to use lower gears for engine braking but had the authority to select wot gear ie 6th paddle to 5th etc. you never know what gear your in in the mav hyb and the other day on a steep decline,i was at 45 mph, i selected l in drive and got good engine braking but i dont think it overreved but dont know.Hint:

I have a scangage II and one gage is rpm but with the engine "off" it doesnt show rpm? must be tied to the injector circuit or spark circuit. I was wondering if you could select L in drive say at 60 mph.....OR should you not be using it in this manner.
I do recall the other day on a steep decent i had the cruise set at 45 and got almost a full green needle ( in the charge range) so it musta downshifted but again no rpm on the scangage. hope im makin sence...thx....z
