I just installed my Kia mirror today. Now have Homelink, an additional compass and auto dimming. Thanks for all the tech info In These postings. I chose to solder the wires. I set up a surgical type area to avoid any accidents. I am a retired technician so that helps. The job wasn’t difficult, just take your time.

You don’t need a technician. You can do it yourself, the soldering is good but not necessary . The connections that come with the mirror are sufficient. All you have to do is add a connection to the ground that comes with a mirror and use the three wires that are mentioned in this thread. But if you don’t feel comfortable by all means, have someone else do it . It is not hard as everyone says, take your time it can be done by anyone

That dash cam should be powered from the fuse panel, not the wiring in the overhead piece. Take the plastic shroud off and check but I'll bet the camera wires run to the fuse panel.
