Keeping rodents out of truck

Help! Mice have destroyed the cabin air filter after less than a month of owning the truck. What's the best way to keep them out. Has anyone put a metal screen on the air intake under the cowl? Here is what I am dealing with. Note the adult mouse was laying on the drivers seat but the babies were dead on the cabin filter.

Just read a story about a church having that problem. They just made them members of the church and they showed up only on Easter Sunday and Christmas like most of the other members LOL.

I’ve never had issues with rats, but I’ve seen this posted a handful of times on this forum. Something specific to the maverick ?

My uncle purchased one of those high pitched sound pulse things. He claims it keeps the mice and rats away from his Cadillac. I also heard a good hungry Barn Cat will do the trick. That is a tough problem I hope that helps, Good Luck!

If you have mice or rats around it is a problem for all vehicles. I have a friend who lives on a ranch and it is a non stop battel. They don't have a maverick but have had damage to a Toyota a Nissan and a Ford. The rats chew through the wires as well as nest and live in all parts of a car if they can.

Rat traps, rat poison, leave the dead rats around as example to others!

On a serious note, maybe spray around the perimeter and don't leave food in or around.

I’ve heard urinal cakes can be used as a deterrent outside. Also, there is a spray that has a mint scent that is supposed to deter mice.

A rabbit did $2500 damage to the wiring on my 16 F150 and $500 wiring damage to my Maverick. I now keep Fox Urine Powder sprinkled under the hoods of the vehicles and on the ground around them.
